2010 New fines for Ontario - In case you hadn't heard yet
WOW, better think twice before breaking these laws!
Hot on the heels of the Provincial Government announcing
that the maximum fines for certain Highway Traffic Act
offences have doubled, Ontario police services have now
been advised that the roadside fines have also increased.
An $85 seatbelt ticket now will cost $200
($240 with costs)-January 1, 2010.
Going through a red light will jump from $150 to $260
( $325 with costs)
Failing to pull over for an emergency vehicle
$490 with costs instead of $85.
In a continued effort to make Ontario 's roads the safest in North America these increases will hopefully act as a
deterrence to drivers who fail to recognize the safety issues
associated with responsible driving.
Please pass this on to your friends to
warn them to be extra careful.
